Mimouna & Eid: Honoring Two Faiths

The University of Kentucky Program in Jewish Studies and the Program in Arabic and Islamic Studies
invite all to an exchange of faith, food, and culture! The programs will jointly screen the film Tinghir —Jerusalem (2013) and a free Middle Eastern meal will be provided for all attendees. The event will include academic discussions on how these faiths intersect and how the cultural experiences shared among them impact communities around the world.

Esposito Opens Discussion of Islam

One of the most respected American scholarly authority on Islam, John L. Esposito, will visit the University of Kentucky Wednesday to discuss “The Future of Islam: Assessing the Elements of Reform, Revival, and Fundamentalism in the Muslim World.” The community is invited to attend his presentation at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Singletary Center Recital Hall.
Lecture to Discuss Arab World Revolutions
The revolutions throughout Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and other nations in the Arab world have inspired earnest debate among experts. UK experts will discuss related topics this Friday.
