Scott's work is with the Department of Anthropology; he will be using the fellowship to fund excavations of an ancient Mayan ballcourt, which will help with his ongoing project to examine the integration of neighboring villages around 2000 years ago in the Yucatan region.
Cristina's work will center on a research project entitled "Bed Rest, Embodied Agency, and High-Risk Pregnancies." The fellowship will further her research and allow her to analyze the responses she is collecting from women on pregnancy bed rest. The results will be synthesized into an article later. Cristina is a professor in the Department of Gender and Women's Studies.
