Probation Advising

As the semester progresses, you may realize you are not doing well in one or more courses. You are NOT ALONE! There are almost as many reasons for academic difficulties as there are students at UK. From test-taking problems to lack of motivation, from roommate conflicts to uncertain major or career goals, the A&S Advising Center is here to help. We want you to succeed!

At the University of Kentucky, there are two ways to be placed on probation, your cumulative grade point average (GPA) falls below a 2.0, or you have two consecutive terms with a GPA below 2.0, regardless of your cumulative GPA. If, at the end of a semester, you find you are on probation you are required to meet with an A&S professional advisor. Together you and your academic advisor discuss the possible reasons for your difficulties, examine the consequences, and explore solutions.

The good news? You don't have to wait until the end of the semester! The A&S Advising Center can provide resources and information to help you get back on track before you end up with a low term GPA. Contact your advisor today, and let us help. Check out the list of resources available to you at Student Resources.

You can do it! Let us help.
