Center For Student Enrichment : Now Open

The English Department hosted a reception on January 23, 2014 to open its new Betty Combs Owen Student Enrichment Center. The Center was made possible through the generosity of Larry Owen, and named in honor of his late wife, Betty Combs Owen, who graduated from UK in 1957. The Center is an inviting and comfortable place on the English Department’s main floor. Here students can learn about internship, graduate, and professional opportunities beyond their undergraduate experience. They will be able to meet with each other and with professors, to chat and build community, or to sit back and read a book. The Center represents one of the important ways that the English Department is committed to building a shared sense of lively intellectual community between our students and faculty. We are grateful to Larry Owen for his assistance in helping the Department achieve its goals.
