Barron to Lead Fourth 'What's New in Science' Lecture
Psychology Professor Susan Barron will lead the fourth lecture in the What's New in Science series, an outreach program aimed to strengthen UK's relationships with high school science programs. The lecture will take place in the Davis Marksbury Building at 7 p.m.

The 2nd Ohio River Analysis Meeting: John Lewis

On Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22 2012, the University of Kentucky will host the 2nd Ohio River Analysis Meeting.

This series of conferences is a collaboration between mathematics research groups at the University of Kentucky and the University of Cincinnati. The goal is to foster closer research collaborations among faculty and students from the two departments, and to bring leading experts in the fields of analysis and partial differential equations to the region.

Fighting Alzheimer's with Antioxidants: Allan Butterfield

Allan Butterfield is UK's Alumni Association Endowed Professor of Biological Chemistry at UK, and the Director of the Center for Membrane Sciences.

The focus of his research is the study of oxidative stress on the brain, one of the main components of Alzheimer's Disease.

In this podcast, Professor Butterfield discusses his research group's experiments and results, and talks about fighting the disease by stimulating the brain's production of antioxidants.
