Year of Middle East Kick Off
The College of Arts & Sciences kicked off its fifth Passport to the World celebration – Year of the Middle East – Crossroads of the World, on Tuesday, September 4, on the Student Center Lawn. Food, t-shirts, henna tattooing and live music featuring Vanessa Paloma were enjoyed by the entire UK community. Year of the Middle East will highlight diversity, celebrate cultural complexity, and emphasize interconnections by integrating art, history, literature, religion, political analysis, architecture, geography, the social and environmental sciences, and other disciplines to enable students, alumni, and the Commonwealth to gain a better understanding of the Middle East as well as its connections to and differences from the U.S. >>> View Gallery At Link Below <<< www.flickr.com/photos/ukartsci/sets/72157646822603917/ Photography by: Dana Rogers
