  • The Department of Psychology at UK is ranked first nationally in percent growth in external research funding bringing in $4.5 million
  • There are over 30 faculty members in the department and currently 16 are either principal investigators or co-investigators different grants.
  • Faculty research programs are supported by a wide variety of external national agencies,  including NIH, NIMH, NIAAA, NIDA, NICH, NIA, and U.S. Department of Education.

Facilities

The Department of Psychology is housed in Kastle Hall, a large, three-story building that is devoted entirely to the Department of Psychology. Kastle Hall is centrally located on the University of Kentucky campus; it is adjacent to buildings for physical and biological science, and a well-equipped computing center, and the main library is only 100 yards away.

Outstanding Psychology Major Award
The recipient will be given a certificate.

Eligibility:
Applicant must be a junior or senior Psychology Major currently enrolled at the UK/Lexington campus.

Advising Appointments: In the College of Arts and Sciences all students are advised by professional academic advisors. Advising is conducted by appointment and each appointment is allotted 30-minutes.

Appointments can be scheduled in myUK under the myInfo link. If you need to cancel an appointment, you may do so in the myUK appointment scheduling system or notify your advisor in advance, by phone or email. Many questions can be answered via email.

Michael Bardo Named 2011 William B. Sturgill Award Recipient

Director of the Center for Drug Abuse Research Translation and Department of Psychology Professor Michael Bardo has been named a 2011 William B. Sturgill Award recipient. The award is presented anually to a graduate faculty member for outstanding contributions to graduate education at the University of Kentucky. "Winning the Sturgill Award is such a high honor for me because my past trainees have been so successful," Bardo began.
