Merit Reviews (FMER)

This is the second year of the biennium for the FMER and so the College is required by University regulations to conduct performance reviews of all full-time faculty employees across all title series, including tenured faculty and senior lecturers.  All full-time faculty employees in their first year of service at the University of Kentucky must also undergo faculty performance review this year, independent of their title series, academic rank, or tenure status.

The menu on the left should help guide you through the FMER Process.  Please note that the information you are required to submit varies depending on whether you are: (1) a lecturer; (2) a senior lecturer; (3) a tenured faculty member; (4) an untenured faculty member; (5) a first year faculty member (lecturer, tenured or untenured).   Please be sure to click on the appropriate link.

The department-level ratings, as determined by the chair in consultation with a departmental faculty committee, play a key role in the college's evaluation process. The Associate Dean of Faculty will review the ratings assigned by the department but substantially defer to them. Discussions between the Chair and the Associate Dean regarding any differences of opinion will take place before the Chair communicates ratings to his/her faculty members. The Dean's Office will also monitor the process for fairness within departments and for compliance with the Administrative Regulations.
