The University has established policies and procedures and created structures to foster a proper research environment, to support and monitor research activities, and to deal effectively with misconduct or allegations of misconduct in research. These structures include various review boards that fall under the Office of Research Integrity (ORI), and include, but are not limited to, the Institutional Review Board (IRB - human subjects) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). University policies and procedures have also been established to conform to federal regulations overseen by various government agencies. The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) included areas: biohazardous materials (including various controlled substances, pharmaceuticals, hypodermic needles, and recombinant DNA); radioactive materials; shipping of hazardous materials, hazardous waste; and export of information and goods (Export Controls).
Additionally, there are Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training requirements if you are the recipient of an NSF, NIH or NIFA sponsored project. To determine the RCR training requirements for your award, please refer to this link to the UK Office of Research Integrity: Training Resources.
